PURPOSE:To detect a magnetic card irrespective of light transmittance of the magnetic card by displacing a light reflecting plane when a magnetic card is inserted, and making light emitted from a light emission element not received by a photodetector element. CONSTITUTION:When the contact part 14 of a magnetic card is not pressed by the magnetic card 12 and kept to erected state by energizing force of a spring 16, light emitted from the light emission element of a reflector type photosensor 13 is reflected by a light reflecting plane 17. The reflected light is received by a photodetector element, and the magnetic card 12 is not detected. When the magnetic card 12 is further inserted to the body 11, the contact part 14 of the magnetic card is thrust by the magnetic card 12, and turned resisting energizing force of the spring 16 and the position of the light reflecting plane 17 is shifted. Light emitted from the light emission element of the reflector type photosensor 13 is absorbed by the upper face of the body 11 and not reflected. The photodetector element does not receive light and the magnetic card 12 is detected.
