The invention is characterized by an apparatus which is composed of a hollow body of various shapes (oval or round shape) for receiving dice inscribed with numbers, letters and the like, or alternatively balls, and a bar-shaped feed channel with an inserted writing refill. The cup-shaped hollow body, filled for example with a particular predetermined number of dice, makes it possible, after repeated shaking, for dice, for example with numerical or character identification, to pass into a channel whose length is set for a desired number of units, or which is rigid, in order that an evaluation can be read off therefrom. A writing refill (for example, ball-point pen) present at the end of the dice bar then permits this series of numbers or characters to be recorded immediately in a convenient manner. With this basic structure of the dice bar it is possible to see that, for example with the aid of the dice and/or balls located in a channel and optionally provided with a variable identification, any desired playing operations (lottery, football pool, party games, etc.) and identification of persons and articles, place allocations and determination of a sequence of participants in events or competitions, can be implemented or determined.
