PURPOSE:To eliminate apparatus and maintenance costs for thawing, by using frozen fish packed in ice in the form of a block, crushing the block into small lumps in frozen state and mixing with powder such as wheat flour, fish meal, etc. CONSTITUTION:A frozen block of fish 8 is thrown into a frozen-fish crusher 1 and crushed to small lumps 8' of 1-5mm in size. Powder 9 is supplied from a powder feeder 2 to the crushed fish and transferred to a kneader 4 while mixing and stirring with a ribbon screw 7. The kneaded mixture 11 is supplied to a granulator 5 and formed to obtain a pellet product 12. The whole process can be carried out in a short time keeping the material at <=0 deg.C. |
