Counterspring for replaceable wearing brake pads of disc brakes

A counterspring for replaceable brake pads of disc brakes which prevents the chattering of a brake pad and can be inserted easily by hand and without additional aids into a brake-pad carrier plate, has a spiral central portion and two end portions adjoining the latter on opposite sides, the end portions being bent out and resting against abutment. In the brake-pad carrier plate there is an opening. One end portion of the counterspring is first of all inserted into the opening. The spiral central portion is then easily deformed by hand so that it snaps into the opening in the carrier plate. The diameter of the spiral central portion corresponds approximately to the diameter of the opening in the carrier plate. The axial height of the spiral central portion is equal to or somewhat greater than the thickness of the carrier plate. The spring is thus gripped securely in the carrier plate.
