An exposure timer having a sensor for measuring projected images and a computer for determining the exposure time is provided for the purpose of correcting the Schwarzschild effect with at least one Schwarzschild memory into which can be input extension factors for exposure times in the case of which without correction a Schwarzschild effect would occur. If the probe signals produce exposure times that are so long, the computer fetches the appropriate correction factor from the memory and applies a correspondingly corrected exposure time. The use of a plurality of Schwarzschild memories and the possibility of inputting stored values via adjusting elements of the device enables different correction curves to be stored for different process conditions and to be available when required for the correction which is respectively necessary (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
