A ductor for rollers or cylinders, especially crepe cylinders, of machines for the production of fibre webs, such as nonwoven, paper or the like, has a holder for a blade and a pressure plate arranged on the side of the latter facing away from the cylinder. This pressure plate engages directly on the blade in the region of the free blade length projecting from the holder. Inserted between the blade and the pressure plate is at least one sheet-metal strip which extends parallel to the blade and which bears merely frictionally against the blade in the region of the free blade length. Bending vibrations of the blade lead to elastic deformations both of the blade and of the sheet-metal strip bearing on it. At the same time, sliding movements occur between these parts. The sliding movements are friction-related and absorb vibrational energy. The vibrational energy extracted from the blade leads to a steadying of the blade movement. <IMAGE>
