The present invention relates to an apparatus for stirring, circulating and introducing gas into liquids in tanks, in particular in activation tanks for aerating sewage sludge. The apparatus comprises a cone open at the bottom, on the shell surface and the edge of which are mounted attachments. The cone is mounted in the vicinity of the bottom and is rotated about a vertically arranged axis, as a result of which the tank liquid is circulated. At the same time, for aeration, compressed air is introduced beneath the cone via a pipe, which compressed air is then distributed in the tank in the form of small bubbles. A base cone installed beneath this rotor cone supports this bubble movement and contributes to the improvement of the flow.
