The adjustable valve element arranged in an insertion hole of the housing of the valve has an adjusting thread interacting with a mating thread in an internal hole in an externally accessible handle. The handle can be turned relative to the housing about the axis of the insertion hole and is fixed in the axial direction by a housing rim flanged into a groove on the handle during the assembly of the valve. The valve element is guided so as to be movable in a sealed manner in the axial direction in the insertion hole in the housing and is secured against rotation. The anti-rotation safeguard can be provided directly by the interaction of the valve element or the component which supports it and the housing, and overall this gives a very simple construction which requires only a small number of components.
