The invention relates to the problem of the heat exchange between a continuously conveyed material and a heat transfer medium. In many methods, in which pourable material is conveyed, this material must be heated or cooled, but it must not come into contact with the heat transfer medium as otherwise it reacts with the heat transfer medium and thus changes its nature. Hollow-worm heat exchangers for example are devices, in which the heat transfer medium does not come into contact with the material. They are, however, technically expensive and throw up sealing problems as a result of the moving parts. The invention therefore presents a conveying arrangement (1) with a device for heating or cooling the material (6) to be conveyed, in which said device consists of stationary heat exchanger bodies (9) which preferably run in the conveying direction and which are submerged into the material from above, in the conveying trough (2), over the greater part of the layer height of the material (6) to be conveyed. <IMAGE>
