The present invention "stabilised flocculant and precipitant for water prepurification" relates to a process for improving the formulation ability, storability, meterability and reactivity of hygroscopic flocculants for water treatment. This is achieved by homogeneously distributing a highly concentrated solution of the flocculant in absorbent, large-surface-area, granular inert carriers. If kieselguhrs are chosen as these, the application form according to the invention gains a further series of advantageous properties which favourably affect the water purification, e.g. by hazard-free application, short flocculation and sedimentation times, by an intensified adsorption effect and by improved separation behaviour on decantation or filtration.
