PURPOSE:To obtain soft magnetic thin plate material of a binary system including Fe excellent in magnetic characteristics by making magnetic powder which contains iron into mud, by forming a green sheet to a required shape and by rolling, recompressing and then sintering. CONSTITUTION:Electrolytic iron powder and reduced cobalt powder are mixed and weighted to make a permendur composition (Fe-50% Co) and the mixed powder is added with a binder, a plasticizer, a dispersant and an organic solvent and mixed by using a ball mill. Part of the organic solvent contained in an obtained Fe-Co mixture is volatilized by using a vacuum pump and mud is formed. The mud continuously flows on a moving flat surface Mylar film and a definitely thick green sheet is formed by a doctor blade method. Then, the green sheet is held at a temperature of 200-300 deg.C, the binder is scattered and then, recompressed to be made a desired thickness, e.g., 100mum, by using a rolling mill and sintered in an atmosphere of hydrogen at a temperature of 1,400 deg.C for 1hr.
