To protect the eyes of a user of a laser record-player (1), it is required to mask the beam path in the stop mode directly under the record (2) which is scanned on one side from underneath and similarly in the reading mode from the top. A twin-branch shield system (5, 6) is provided to this effect, of which the branches (5, 6) mounted on a rotation axis (4) in a fixed manner and at right angles with respect to each other may pivot together by 90<o> in order to allow the application of the shield in both above-mentioned modes of operation. |
