FLAME-RETARDANT RESIN COMPOSITION

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a high flame-retarding effect with a relatively small amount of an inorg. filler, by adding a mixture of aluminum hydroxide and basic magnesium carbonate to an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer or a compsn. contg. the same and irradiating the mixture with electron beams. CONSTITUTION:This flame-retardant resin compsn. is formed formed by irradiating a compsn. consisting of the following components (a) and (b) with electron beams at a dose of 2-60 Mrad. (a):100pts.wt. ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer alone or resin compsn. contg. at least 10wt% said copolymer (b):50-400pts.wt. mixture obtd. by mixing aluminum hydroxide with basic magnesium carbonate in a ratio of 9:1-2:3 (by weight). As the ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, one having a vinyl acetate content of 10wt% or above is preferred.
