PURPOSE:To improve mold release properties without lowering mechanical strength, etc., by blending a polyethylene terephthalate resin with a small amount of a specified epoxy-modified silicone resin. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. polyethylene terephthalate resin (A) is kneaded with 0.1-10pts.wt. epoxy-modified silicone resin (B) having an epoxy equivalent of 1,500-7,000, composed of a structural unit of the formula (wherein R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are each H or a 2-20C hydrocarbon group; X is a monovalent org. group having an epoxy group; and (a) and (b) are each 1-1,000) to obtain the desired polyethylene terephthalate compsn. A typical example of the component B is a silicone resin obtd. by modifying a copolymer of phenylmethylsiloxane and dimethylsiloxane with an epoxy compd. the resultant compsn. has good mold release properties and it is not necessary to add a crystallization accelerator, polyethylene wax, etc., at the time of molding. |
