A suction nozzle for use with a cleaning appliance with a suction fan (exhaust air) for producing a suction air flow which flows into the cleaning appliance via a suction pipe, the suction pipe being provided at the end of the suction nozzle, has an inflow channel with an inflow opening for the suction air flow located in the region of a sliding surface. The suction nozzle furthermore has an injector which is flow-connected to the inflow opening and the inflow channel. It consists of a jet channel and a suction channel, each with an afflux opening extending in the region of the sliding surface. By means of the injector, no vacuum can form during the use of the suction nozzle even on air-impermeable floor coverings, so that the suction nozzle can then still be easily moved over the floor covering.
