Functional principle of an adaptor for continuously variable azimuth and elevation adjustment of sights of small arms (hand-held weapons, handguns and long guns). Most gunners (people shooting) have problems especially as a result of the rigid presets with respect to the fitting of the sighting means centrally on the barrel. Many gunners tend to clench up (become cramped, go tense) since the structure of their bodies makes it impossible for them to detect the sighting line, that is to say the line between the front sight and the rear sight, with the aiming eye with the head held straight. Intermediate pieces for elevating the sighting means are an inadequate means since it is known that a sighting line located low down above the barrel provides advantages. The advantage of this functional principle is as follows. The gunner has the capability of adjusting his sight to his body and to the structure of the upper part of his body such that he can detect the sighting line with the aiming eye without any tensing up. Furthermore, as a "fall-out product" he can also vary the distance between his eye and the rear sight.
