The invention is a roof superstructure for estate cars and minibuses which is to be used following the principle of a roof rack, but which is screwed to the vehicle. The ZGG and the permissible roof load are not exceeded, so that acceptance by the TÜV [Technical Monitoring Association] is not necessary for this connection. The base vehicle, which is equipped with a standard sun roof, makes it possible to climb from the drivers compartment into a living, sleeping and storage space (comfortable sitting height), which uses the entire roof surface. The superstructure is also equipped with a sun roof, which ensures the penetration of light and air (giving rise to a chimney effect, as well as permitting entry). The technical structure and appearance of the device can be varied. (Illumination, loudspeakers, wood panelling, carpeted floor, mounts for skis and surfboards). The special advantages of the superstructure are derived from its mobility. The base vehicle can be used for the purpose for which it was intended, as a family, passenger transport or goods vehicle, and can be converted into a mobile home with a large volume, by means of a superstructure auxiliary device, in a few operations at any time. <IMAGE>
