A gearbox case for angle grinders with double support of the drive spindle is proposed, which is inexpensive and in which the tolerances of the individual components to be joined together are unable to have any effect, so that special measures to compensate for play are unnecessary. For this purpose, the invention makes provision for the gearbox case to consist of two vertically divided case halves (9, 10), for the outer ring (7'') of the upper bearing (7), which is designed as a fixed bearing, to be enclosed by the two case halves and for the inner ring (7') of the upper bearing to be secured against axial displacement, and for the lower bearing (14) to be arranged axially displaceably on the drive spindle (4). <IMAGE>
