The invention relates to a switch-over device for compressed-air diving or breathing apparatus which is attached on the one side to a breathing-gas cylinder carried by the user and on the other side to a supply line. It contains a control piston which interacts with a valve plunger arranged so as to be coaxial to the control piston and displaceable relative to it. Both the control piston and the valve plunger are loaded in the closing direction by an interposed compression spring and are designed with regard to their effective areas in such a way that, when pressure in the one compressed-gas source decreases, the device automatically switches over to the other compressed-gas source. In addition, the device switches back to the supply line whenever sufficient pressure is applied there.
