PURPOSE:To make full use of a strong point of two-wheel drive as bringing a merit of four-wheel drive into full play, by constituting a controller so as to select it to the two-wheel drive at the time when the four-wheel drive is disadvantageous in accordance with a car speed and a steering angle. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of detection signals Ss and theta out of a car speed sensor 11 and a steering angle sensor 12, the processed variable required for selection to four-wheel drive or two-wheel drive is operated at a control unit 10 constituted of a microcomputer. And, according to this operated result, a selector signal Sc is outputted to a selector device of a transfer 3. In this consequence, usually it is set to the four-wheel drive, in case of this four-wheel drive, only when it is disadvantageous, the two-wheel drive is automatically selectable, so that its drawback is made up for while making full use of a merit of the four-wheel drive, the thus highly efficient drivability is securable.
