PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device and lighten the weight, by enclosing the rear side coil end of a stator coil with a metallic enclosure unit via an insulating resin filler, to pass cooling liquid through a passage, and by fitting a fan on a rotor core. CONSTITUTION:An AC generator for a car is organized with a rotor 21 consisting of a magnetic pole core 22 and the like fixed firmly on a rotary shaft 1, a stationary exciting side core 23 retaining an excitation coil 9, and the like. In this case, an enclosure unit 24 for surrounding the rear side coil end of a stator coil 11 is set, and is filled up with an insulating filler 25, and is fixed liquid-tight on a stator core 10. The enclosure unit 24 is sealed liquid- tight also on a front bracket 26 supporting the core 10, and cooling liquid is passed through a branch passage 32b. At the front end of the magnetic pole core 22 of the rotor 21, a fan 27 is fitted. On the external end surface of a cooling cover 33, a rectifier 16 and a voltage regulator 17 are firmly fixed via heat sinks 16a, 17a. As a result, the stator coil 10 or the like of a large quantity of heat generation can be effectively cooled.
