The invention relates to a machine for producing a seam in a piece of woven cloth for the purpose of joining together opposite ends of the cloth, with the formation of an endless ribbon of woven cloth, with the machine including members for causing the weft threads to form a shed opening and members for gripping successive threads among the said weft threads by the fringe and for drawing these weft threads successively through the shed opening.
