摘要 PURPOSE:To reliably provide dash pot function and to improve drivability, by a method wherein, during reduction running, a gain, by means of which the opening of a bypass passage control valve is controlled for decrease, in varied with an initial bypass intake air amount. CONSTITUTION:In a controller 45, during non-idle running of an engine 1, a bypass intake air amount QM of a bypass passage 26 is increased, and during reduction running, a control valve 27 is controlled by means of a given gain so that a bypass intake air amount is gradually decreased from an initial bypass intake air amount QM0 with a decrease rate QD. In which case, the magnitude of the decrease rate QD is varied with a deviation (Qp-QM1) between an increase amount correcting intake air amount QM1 (i.e., the initial bypass intake air amount QM0) of the bypass passage 26 during the starting of reduction running and its desired value Qp. As a result, variation of a given gain, by means of which operation of the control valve 27 is controlled, is increased with the increase in the initial bypass intake air amount QM0. This constitution enables dash pot function to be always provided irrespective of the magnitude of the initial bypass intake air amount.
