PURPOSE:A composition for hair effectively preventing coloring with time, obtained by blending a composition for hair containing a specific amount of a specified anionic surface active agent, a specific amount of a specified alkanol amide and a specific amount of a specified menthol with a specific amount of aspartic acid and/or glutamic acid. CONSTITUTION:A composition for hair containing (A) 1-20wt% anionic surface active agent shown by formula I (R1 is 8-20C alkyl or alkenyl; n is 0-5; M is cation derived from NH4 or alkanolamine), (B) 0.1-10wt% alkanol amide shown by formula II (R2 is each group in R1) and (C) 0.1-5wt%, preferably 0.1-2wt% l- or dl-menthol is blended with (D) 0.05-5, preferably 0.1-2wt% based on the total amount of the composition of aspartic acid, glutamic acid or their mixture so that coloring of the cosmetic occurring with time is prevented.
