PURPOSE:To remove dispersion of an ignition timing, restrict increase in a required breakdown voltage, and prevent an deterioration of output and fuel consumption, by providing a map of advance angle values to be corrected in accordance with a battery voltage with an electronic control circuit for thereby correcting the ignition timing based on a change of the battery voltage. CONSTITUTION:A map of advance angle values to be corrected in advance according to a battery voltage is provided with an electronic control circuit ECU1, the map being used for correcting a result of calculation of the electronic control circuit ECU1 for calculating an ignition timing in accordance with an operation condition of an engine based on data from a rotating angle sensor 5, a suction pressure sensor 6 and water temperature sensor 7 which detect the operation conditions. An advancing angle value to be corrected according to a battery voltage in a prescribed condition is added to the calculated value to use the added value as a final ignition timing determined by the ECU1. Therefore, an ignition timing is corrected according to a change of a battery voltage, whereby dispersion of an actual ignition timing at which discharging is effected is removed, an increase in a requested breakdown voltage is restricted, and deterioration of engine output, and fuel consumption, melting of catalyst due to an increase in exhaust gas and knocking are prevented.
