PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition useful as a nutrient assistant food, by removing metallic component from brown algae as far as possible using an acid, bonding a metal such as calcium, magnesium, iron, etc., to the demetallized algae, adjusting the algae to a specific pH and dehydrating and solidifying the product. CONSTITUTION:Metallic component is removed from brown algae as far as possible using an acid. The treated algae is bonded with a metal selected from calcium, magnesium and iron in an aqueous solution, adjusted to 6-7pH, dehydrated and solidified to obtain the objective composition for oral administration. When the metal-bonded marine algae composition is administered together with other food or feed to human or animal, sodium ion is adsorbed to suppress the absorption of sodium ion through digestive tracts and prevent hypertension and cerebral apolexy caused by excessive intake of sodium ion. Furthermore, released calcium or magnesium can be easily absorbed through digestive tracts as a solution and ferrous ion is also absorbed easily through the digestive tracts as ferric ion.
