PURPOSE:To set the clearance between a platen and a feed roller according to the thickness of the use paper to be set and at the same time, to give a suitable printing pressure, by a method wherein a use paper pinch means is so constructed as to be able to advance to and retreat from a platen in conjunction with the advance to or retreat from the platen of a printing means. CONSTITUTION:A use paper pinch means H is so constructed as to be able to advance to or retreat from a platen in conjunction with the advance to or retreat from a platen 30 of a printing means I using the pivoting of a lever 4. When detent holes 4a, 4b are fitted with projected parts by counterclockwise rotation of the lever 4, a pivot member 5 is rotated clockwise utilizing a pin 6 as its center by an eccentric cam 3 via connecting lever 7 following the counterclockwise rotation of the lever 4, and a feed roller 53 is separated from the platen 30. Further, as the lever 4 is rotated counterclockwise, a carrier 1 is rotated counterclockwise utilizing a guide axis as its center and the printing means I is retreated from the platen 30. Therefore, the setting of thick paper becomes possible. Furthermore, the printing pressure on this paper can be suitably set and besides, the generation of jam or the like can be also prevented. |
