PURPOSE:To attain copying operation with proper setting points for images in respective pages without reducing a copying speed and to obtain coped with high quality by pre-scanning the 2nd page directly after the exposure of the 1st page. CONSTITUTION:A CPU54 discriminates an automatic exposure (AE) mode through an AE sensor 51, and when the AE mode is selected, lights up a light source 21, starts pre-scanning operation and stores the sampling data of the 1st page in a RAM57 after waiting up to a sampling timing on the basis of the data stored in a ROM56. The CPU54 lights up the light source 21 on the basis of an exposure value based upon the stored data, and after executing copying operation, discriminates the AE mode again, and when the AE mode is selected, stores the sampling data of the 2nd page in the RAM57 after waiting up to the sampling of a prescribed distance from the end of exposure of the 1st page, copies the 2nd page on the basis of an exposure value based upon the stored data. Then, the CPU4 turns off the light source 21 and moves an optical part 2' backward to end copying operation for a series of pages. |
