PURPOSE:To prevent a seal member from being deteriorated in an early stage, by forming a passage for cleaning at the position outside of the seal member. CONSTITUTION:In a rod cover 3, a seal member 6 is formed, and at a position outside the seal member 6 are formed passages 7 and 8 for cleaning. With this contrivance, the halfway surface of a piston rod 5 is cleaned at this side of the seal member 6, or the foreign matter sticking to the surface is removed. Thus, the foreign matter never reaches the seal member 6, thereby preventing the seal member 6 from being deteriorated in an early stage.
