PURPOSE:To prevent the separation of a metal plating layer by an external force, by providing a roundness of 1-5mm at an outer peripheral edge of a metallic journal provided at both ends of a fiber reinforced plastics roller having a plated surface. CONSTITUTION:A metallic journal 11 is mounted by adhesion or press fitting at an end portion of a fiber reinforced plastics cylinder 10. The journal 11 is formed at its outer peripheral edge with a roundness R of 1-5mm, and the roundness is coated with a conductive treatment layer 12, a copper or nickel layer 13 and a hard chrome layer 14. As the metallic journal 11 is formed at its outer peripheral edge with the roundness, the copper or nickel layer 13 is coated on the journal owing to the shape effect, thereby preventing the separation of the plating layer.
