PURPOSE:To make it possible to form easily a screen of a color cathode-ray tube with a constant quality of excellent landing performance, by furnishing a temperature control device at a carrier unit, and controlling the temperature of a shadow mask which is heated by the radiant heat from a heated panel. CONSTITUTION:In a carrier unit 17, are furnished nozzles 30c-30n of a temperature adjusting device to control the temperature while a shadow mask is being mounted when the carrier unit 17 is stopped, responding to exposure devices 18c-18n from the third one from a panel/mask connecting device 19 side. The nozzles 30a-30n are formed of a hot wind blowing conductor 32 at the center, a cold wind blowing conductor 33 at the outside, and an exhaust conductor 34 to exhaust the hot wind and the cold wind blown through the conductors 32 and 33, at the middle portion, in the same axis. They are driven up and down synchronously to the intermittent movement of the carrier unit 17, and the tips of the nozzles are inserted the recessed surface of the shadow mask 4 from the opposite side of the panel 2, to the panel/mask connecting body stopped at the upper side of the nozzles. When the panel/mask connecting body moves, they are removed.
