PURPOSE:To obtain a printed matter with satisfactory print quality and with no gap produced between print lines even in case the graphic print is carried out by a serial printer, by printing a part of the continuous memory data successively and duplicatively. CONSTITUTION:The print data are received from a host device and stored in the 1st memory 5. Then the data are outputted to a head I/O 8 after a print action timer 3 is started and printed by an amount equal to a single line by a print head 4 via a driver 9. When the next print data is stored in the 2nd memory 6, a print form is fed by 7 bits by both signals CR and LF to stop the timer 3. Then 1 is added to a line counter and it is checked whether the line counter is set at 9 or not. If not, the timer 3 is started. The print data of the memory 5 printed in the preceding time is read out by a single byte and stored in the 1st register in a CPU 1. While the print data of the memory 6 in the same address as the memory 5 is stored in the 2nd register of the CPU 1. Then both registers are shifted right simultaneously by an amount equal to the count value of the line counter. The contents of a register 2 are supplied to the head 4 via the head I/O 8 and the driver 9.
