PURPOSE:To efficiently and inexpensively produce a permanent magnet material having excellent magnet characteristics by grinding and sizing a pressurized body of pulverized powder made of the specific compsn. essentially consisting of a rare earth element, B and Fe to an adequate grain size, then molding the powder in a magnetic field and sintering the molding. CONSTITUTION:The finely pulverized powder essentially consisting of 10-30atom% R (R; >=1 kinds among Nd, Pr, Dy, Ho, Tb, or further >=1 kinds among La, Ce, Sm, Gd, Er, Eu, Tm, Yb, Lu and Y), 2-28% B and 65-80% Fe is pressurized in the magnetic field. The pressurized body obtd. in such a manner is ground and sized to 0.1-3mm powder grain size. The sized powder is thereafter molded to a required shape and size in the magnetic field. The molding is then sintered for about 30min-8hr at about 900-1,200 deg.C. The Fe-B-R permanent magnet material having high energy product of about >=20MGOe as well as high residual magnetic flux density and high coercive force is thus obtd. |
