PURPOSE:To obtain a stable discharge, by furnishing a switching function at the other side of one of a pair of electrodes. CONSTITUTION:In the generation of X-rays, after charging an energy accumulation device 22, a potential is applied to a trigger electrode 21, the discharge is started between electrodes 19 and 5, causing to apply a high voltage between the electrode 5 and an electrode 6, and the discharge occurs immediately since the withstand voltage value between the electrodes 5 and 6 is set so that the gap distance can make an immediate discharge. Then a large pulse-current is fed between the electrodes 5 and 6 from the energy accumulation device 22, and X-rays 13 are generated and picked up from an X-ray permeating window 14. Since the discharge switch is a single one, there is no unevenness as in the system with plural discharge switches, and a stable discharge performance can be realized. Furthermore, since there is no impedance component concering plural outside switches themselves, resulting a low impedance, the energy efficiency is improved. |
