PURPOSE:To register and delete the new words with high efficiency in a KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) converting system incorporated with an OS. CONSTITUTION:An operator operates a function key to process a new word through a keyboard unit 2. Receiving thin key input, a window manager 13 opens a window #2 for new words on a CRT display 3. In a new word processing mode, the result of conversion is delivered to the window #2 with input of a termination key after conversion. This procedure is repeated to set the registered words. When the termination key input is supplied from the unit 2 again, a reading input request is delivered to a window #1. Here the termination key is operated again after the reading input of the registered word and therefore a message of confirmation is displayed on the window #1 for registration of new words. Then the termination key is operated again to finish registration of new words.
