PURPOSE:To prevent abnormal insertion by installing plural cartridge insertion detecting contacts on both sides of the electrical contact group of a memory cartridge or in their vicinity and reporting to a main body control part that the insertion detecting contact is normally touched. CONSTITUTION:The printed circuit board cartridge edge contact 13 of a cartridge block 14 and the card edge connector 12 of a main body system block 10 are detachably inserted and connected. Terminals 1a-6a are installed on the contact 13, and the connector 12 is provided with terminals 1b-6b. Here terminals 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b, 5a and 5b are normally necessary contacts, while terminals 1a, 1b, 6a and 6b are usually provided so as to sandwich the terminal group, and detect that the cartridge is inserted. A potential of +5V is transmitted to the contact 1a through the contact 1b, to the contact 6a through a protection switch 16 from the contact 1a, and to the input P of a control circuit 11 through the contact 6b from the contact 6a. Thus it is reported that contacts are normally touched.
