PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of processing efficiency with no complication despite the diversified expression of knowledge, by using a knowledge control mechanism and also constitution to designate a reasoning mechanism through a knowledge base. CONSTITUTION:A knowledge control mechanism 3 is actuated by a program which preprocesses a knowledge file described by a user and performs the automatic edition of a reasoning mechanism 1. That is, the mechanism 3 is started by a command received from the user to add the serial numbers to each knowledge file stored in a knowledge base 2 and also to compile the collation between the knowledge file numbers and the reasoning function numbers into a function collation list. Then the numbers of desired reasoning programs are compiled into a list. Based on such a list,the corresponding subroutine is extracted out of a reasoning program base 4 and linked with an execution control mechanism for edition of the mechanism 1. Thus it is possible to prevent deterioration of the processing efficiency and also to decentralize the processors with no complication despite the diversified expressions of knowledge.
