PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp color image by forming an overcoat layer made of polyethylene oxide on a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The color master sheet is prepared by forming the overcoat layer made of polyethylene oxide on the photosensitive layer. The laminate photosensitive layers X are formed by laminating on a support 1 the overcoat layer 2, the blue-sensitive layer Y of a yellow dye layer, the green-sensitive layer M of a magenta dye layer, and the red-sensitive layer C of a cyan dye layer. The laminate layers X are exposed to an image-forming light directly past an original or reflected with it to form latent images in the layers X, and they are developed to form blackened silver images. An azo dye positive image is obtained by using these blackened silver images as a catalyst, decomposing the azo dyes at the parts where the silver images are present, with a strongly acidic solution in accordance with the amount of silver, reducing and bleaching them, processing the decomposed dyes with a fixing solution, and finally removing unnecessary silver halide, thus permitting a color copy high in resolution and gradation to be formed with high sensitivity and high speed with a copying machine simple in structure. |
