COMPENSATING CIRCUIT FOR WHITE COLOR DEFECT

PURPOSE:To cancel the rest of the compensation on a monitor picture by compensating the defect by changing the white color defect into the black color defect. CONSTITUTION:A drive circuit 9 inputs a transfer clock to a solid-state image pickup element 4 and a read light receiving output is amplified in current by FETQ 1, 2 and conducted out as an image pick up output. A compensation pulse generating circuit 10 conducts out a negative compensation pulse during a period when the light receiving output corresponding to a defective picture element is read based on defective position information obtained from a ROM11, a compensation pulse is inverted in polarity and inputted to an OR circuit 12 together with a reset pulse from a timing generator 8. A switching FETQ 5 functioning as a reset switch flows the light receiving output to a reset drain to prevent the generation of the image pickup output and all the image pickup outputs corresponding to the defective picture element go to black level.
