PURPOSE:To dispense with a container for holding high temp. metal uranium and to solve not only the problem of the heat resistance and corrosion resistance of a crucible material but also the problem of thermal economical efficiency, by heating metal uranium in air to generate a vapor stream. CONSTITUTION:Solid metal uranium present in air by a falling or injection method is irradiated with electron, ion or laser beam to obtain a vapor stream. For example, the metal uranium pellet 2 fallen from a metal uranium pellet falling apparatus 1 is irradiated with electron beam 6 emitted from an electron gun 5 when reached the electron beam irradiation area 4 at the center of a separator 3 and heated to radially generate the vapor stream 7. As a result, a crucible for retaining high temp. metal uranium is dispensed with.
