PURPOSE:To improve the yield of molding without generating faulty molded form by a method wherein needle punch is applied on the crimped superposed section of a mat, which is generated in recessed and protruded section, to entangle fibers in the superposed section and obtain a high connecting strength between layers in the superposed section after heating and compression molding. CONSTITUTION:When a mat 7 consisting of wood fibers including resin binder is put on a preliminary molding mold having an uneven section such as an arm rest section along the mold surface thereof, the mat 7 becomes excessive around the uneven section so as to show the shape of crimp. Subsequently, a top force 2 is lowered to lay down the crimped section 8 of the mat 7 and the crimped sections are compressed until they are superposed, then, a movable die plate 4 is lowered, whereby a multitude of needle punch needles 5 stings the mat 7 simultaneously and the needles penetrate a bottom force 3. Then, the fibers of the mat 7 are hooked by barbs, planted on the needle 5, and are drawn into the advancing direction of the needles, therefore, the fibers between the crimped and superposed mats are entangled and the crimped section 8 may be integrated.
