PURPOSE:To make it possible to record a high density and high sensitivity pit at a high speed by irradiation with low output semiconductive laser beam, by containing a specific diene compound salt and a polydiacetylene derivative in the recording layer of an optical recording medium in combination. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium having a recording layer 2 containing a polydiacetylene derivative and one or more of a diene compound salt represented by general formula I or II is formed. Next, recording information is converted to an optical signal by a semiconductive laser beam through a control circuit to be formed into an image on the recording layer 2 of the optical recording medium. The diene compound salt present at the image forming point (area) 3 absorbs this laser beam 4 to generate heat and the recording layer 2 is melted to form a pit consisting of a recessed part 5. |
