PURPOSE:To set the output voltage level just through a single control action of a semi-fixed resistance by connecting a semi-fixed resistor to a voltage control circuit in parallel to a variable resistor and then controlling the semi-fixed resistor so that the parallel synthetic resistance value is equal to a desired level. CONSTITUTION:A voltage controller contains a variable resistor 1, fixed resistors 2 and 3, and a semi-fixed resistor 4. This resistor 4 is connected in parallel to a fixed terminal of the resistor 1. When the output voltage Vout is controlled, the parallel synthetic resistance value between both resistors 1 and 4 is set at a desired level with control of the resistor 4. Then the maximum Vout={(R2+R14)/(R3+R14+R2)}X Vin and the minimum Vout={R2/(R3+R14+R2}X Vin are available respectively. Here the resistance values of both resistors 2 and 3 are referred to as R2 and R3 together with the parallel synthetic resistance value between resistors 1 and 4 as R14 and the input voltage as Vin respectively.
