摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To produce paraffin hydrocarbons useful as a solvent efficiently, by bringing a glycerine higher fatty acid ester as a raw material into contact with a catalyst supported on alumina as a carrier at high temperature under high pressure in a hydrogen flow. CONSTITUTION:Glycerin higher fatty acid ester (e.g., coconut oil, tung oil of the South Seas growth, etc.) as a raw material is brought into contact with preferably 10-30wt% crystalline alumina silicate Y zeolite supported on alumina carrier as a catalyst, or Co.Mo or Ni.Mo on it at high temperature (preferably at 350-450 deg.C) under high temperature (preferably 30-150kg/cm<2>) in a hydrogen flow, to give hydrocarbons. The content of Co or Ni in the catalyst is preferably 4-6wt%, and that of Mo is preferably 13-18wt%.</p>
