PURPOSE:To obtain the excellent color image for short period by processing a photographic sensitive material contg. a specific compd. according to a prescribed operation, substantially without using benzyl alcohol. CONSTITUTION:The titled method lies in image-wisely exposing a silver halide color photographic sensitive material provided a photographic layer contg. at least one kind of noncoloring compds. shown by formulas (I)-(VII) on a reflective substrate, followed by developing the obtd. exposed material, with a color developer which contains an aromatic primary amine developing agent and does not contain substantially benzyl alcohol, for <=2.5min. In the formula, A is a bivalent electron withdrawing group, Q is benzene or a heterocyclic ring group, P is a 5-7 membered heterocyclic ring, Y1 is an alkyl or a heterocy clic ring group, R1-R9, Ra and Rb are each an alkyl, an aryl or an alkoxy group, R4' is an alkylene group, (l), (m) and (n) are each an integer. Thus, the coloring property of the coupler is improved, thereby developing for a short period is attained.
