PURPOSE:To aim at to stably operat a reversing mechanism and at enhance the efficiency thereof, by arranging a reverse drive shaft section provided with a guide roller section and a stationary plate and adapted to make a half turn and then to come to a stop, and a movable plate adapted to rotate in synchroni zation with the rotary motion of the reverse drive shaft section. CONSTITUTION:Lead frames 18a are fed into a gap between a stationary plate 8 in a reverse mechanism and a sponge sheet 11 applied over a movable plate 7 while the positions thereof in the feed direction and the direction orthogonal to the former direction are corrected by a guide roller 16 positioned before the reverse mechanism section, and then abut against one end face of the reverse drive shaft 1 so that they are aligned and stopped. After a predetermined time elapses, when the preparation for reversing all lead frames 18a is completed, the reverse drive shaft 1 initiates its half-turn operation in the direction of the arrow. With this arrangement in which the stationary plate 8 and the sponge sheet 11 on the stationary plate 7 forcedly feed the lead frames 18a, it is pos sible to aim at stably operating the reverse mechanism and at enhancing the efficiency thereof with no jams and loss in the preparation thereof.
