PURPOSE:To improve accuracy in reading bar code in a microwave oven which inputs information on heating from reading bar codes by a constitution in which inspection of mistaken reading of individual bar codes and inspection of mistaken reading of bar codes as a whole are carried out. CONSTITUTION:A bar code 19 is read by a bar code reader 3 and when a reading is inputted to a control device 4, and individual inspection means 5 inspects whether or not the relation between the number of '1' in individual data characters a, b, c-n and parity check characters 18a, 18b-18n is correct by means of the parity check characters 18a, 18b-18n and inspects mistaken reading of heating information. Further, a total inspection means 6 simply adds individual data characters a, b-n and compares it with check sum characters 17 in order to inspect if the reading as a whole is correct. If the reading is correct it is reported 36. In this way the accuracy of reading is improved.
