PURPOSE:To obtain a photographic image of high picture quality from both a reflection type and a transmission type photosensitive material by providing a switching means which sets different reversal exposure conditions between the reflection type photosensitive material and transmission type photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material magazine 53 is provided with a display for discriminating between the reflection type and transmission type photosensitive materials and the magazine 53 is mounted on a device to discriminate the mark automatically; and a signal indicating the transmission type or reflection type is obtained and conveyance speeds of the photosensitive materials in a processing tank 24 are changed. Further, reversal exposure 42 before development is made different between the reflection type photosensitive material and transmission type photosensitive material. When the quantities of light of lamps 43 and 44 for the reversal exposure for the transmission type photosensitive material is set 1.4-3 times those of the reflection type photosensitive material, excellent picture quality as to color tone and contrast is obtained with both photosensitive materials.
