PURPOSE:To easily design a layout by adding a light pen for graphic input and a large-size graphic display device to a work station. CONSTITUTION:A memory means 13 stores the basic software for command processing, etc., the knowledge data base and the graphic processing procedure. For instance, a designer is going to draw a square on a picture and indicates 19 the input of a square out of an input selection table shown on the picture by means of a light pen 2. Then four apexes serving as desired parameters are supplied 20 by the pen 2 on the screen. A work station judges 21 whether an input pattern is appropriate or not. And displays 22 the reason and the position of an error if detected.
