PURPOSE:To provide an agent for controlling jumbo river snail damaging crops in water (e.g. paddy rice plant, lotus, rush, etc.), by using O-2,3-dihydro-3-oxo-2- phenyl-6-pyridazinyl-O,O-diethyl thiophosphate as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent for controlling jumbo river snail contains the compound of formula as an active component at an amount of 1-90wt% for wettable powder, wettable granule, emulsifiable concentrate or sol or 0.5-10wt% for powder, fine granule or granule. The generation of jumbo river snail can be prevented by scattering the controlling agent to the field or water for the cultivation of the water-crop such as paddy rice field before the intrusion of jumbo river snail and the jumbo river snail intruded to the field can be completely exterminated when the agent is applied after the intrusion of jumbo river snail. The damage of crops caused e.g. by bite with jumbo river snail can be prevented by this procedure. Any jumbo river snail from young body to grown body can be controlled by this agent. Since the agent has residual activity, it is also effective against young hatched jumbo river snail.
